This configuration features two AMS Neve 1084 modules mounted horizontally in a 3U, 19" rack, combining the legendary Neve mic/line preamp circuitry with an expanded, highly musical EQ section. Originally developed for Neve consoles like the 8014 and 8028, the 1084 offers the revered tonal character of the 1073 with added tonal flexibility-making it a favorite for engineers who want classic Neve warmth with more control over the frequency spectrum.

Each module includes a transformer-balanced, earth-free mic and line input, delivering up to 80 dB of mic gain and ±20 dB of line gain in precise 5 dB steps. The EQ section is a standout feature: high and low shelving bands with selectable frequencies, a mid-band with switchable Q, and both high-pass and low-pass filters for precise tone shaping. The design allows for up to ±16 dB of shelving and ±12 or ±18 dB of midrange peaking, offering exceptional control without sacrificing musicality. With pristine headroom, ultra-low noise, and beautifully engineered analog circuitry, this dual 1084 rack is ideal for capturing and sculpting vocals, instruments, and mixes with vintage depth and modern precision.
